AI Revolutionizing Weather Forecasting with Faster and More Accurate Predictions

Scientists have developed two new AI models, Pangu-Weather and NowcastNet, that can significantly improve weather forecasting accuracy and speed. Pangu-Weather can predict global weather patterns up to a week in advance and is 10,000 times faster than conventional methods. NowcastNet provides more accurate and detailed short-term forecasts up to six hours ahead. While these AI models are not intended to replace meteorologists, they can serve as additional tools to enhance weather predictions and aid in disaster prevention.
