India investigates alleged CoWin data breach and leak.

The Indian Union health ministry has rejected media reports of a massive data breach in the CoWin platform, stating that they were "without any basis" and "mischievous in nature". The ministry has requested the country's nodal cybersecurity agency CERT-In to look into the issue and submit a report. Opposition parties have demanded an inquiry into the issue and accused the government of "criminal negligence" as it is "sitting on a data protection law". Reports suggest that an automated account on messaging platform Telegram was allegedly sharing sensitive personal information of Indian citizens who signed up for the CoWin portal for their Covid-19 vaccination.
