"UN Unanimously Adopts Historic Global AI Resolution"

The United Nations General Assembly has unanimously adopted the first global resolution on AI, aiming to protect personal data, enhance privacy policies, monitor AI for potential risks, and uphold human rights. The nonbinding agreement, titled "Seizing the opportunities of safe, secure and trustworthy artificial intelligence systems for sustainable development," received support from 121 countries, including the United States and China. The resolution seeks to address concerns about the irresponsible or malicious application of AI systems and represents a critical step towards establishing international guardrails for the ethical and sustainable development of AI.
