Tragedy Strikes as Refugee Boat Sinks off Greece

At least 78 migrants died and 104 survivors were rescued after an overloaded fishing boat sank in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Greece. Reports suggest that between 400 and 750 people were on board, with many trapped in the hold. The boat sank in one of the Mediterranean's deepest areas, making it difficult for rescuers to retrieve the sunken vessel. The UNHCR said hundreds were feared missing, and the UN's International Organization for Migration said initial reports suggested up to 400 people were aboard.
