Notre-Dame Cathedral Reopens After Five-Year Restoration

Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris is set to reopen on November 7, 2024, after a five-year reconstruction effort following the devastating fire in April 2019. Nearly 1,000 workers restored the iconic Gothic structure, including its spire, roof, and stained-glass windows, using traditional techniques. The project also involved archaeological excavations and the refurbishment of the cathedral's interior. French President Emmanuel Macron praised the workers for achieving what was thought impossible, meeting the ambitious deadline he set for the restoration.
