De La Cruz’s 102-MPH Relay Snuffs Dodgers’ Inside-the-Park Bid
Elly De La Cruz fired a 102-mph relay to home to tag Teoscar Hernández out at the plate on what looked like an inside-the-park homer, a play initially logged at 105.3 mph and later confirmed at 102 mph. It’s the fastest infielder-assisted throw since 2015, highlighting a strong September for the Reds shortstop as Cincinnati stays on the fringes of the playoff race.
