Thor24: The 4,000-HP Custom Semi That Hit 130 MPH and Sold for $12 Million
Thor24 is a 44-foot, 32,000-pound custom semi built on a stretched 1979 Peterbilt 359. Its 27.9-liter V24 powertrain combines two Detroit Diesel V12s with 12 superchargers and eight nitrous bottles to produce ~3,974 hp, enabling a top speed of 130 mph. Owned by Mike Harrah, it reportedly cost about $7 million to build, and sold for a record $12 million at a 2019 Riyadh auction, though it stayed in Arizona. The truck features extreme braking via four 12-foot parachutes, a cabin with extra doors, a Lamborghini-style passenger door, 24 gauges, seven screens, and a 1,500-watt audio system, while still remaining tow-capable.
