
Trailblazing climber Nimsdai Purja dies in Broad Peak avalanche at 43
Nirmal “Nimsdai” Purja, the Nepal-born mountaineer famous for conquering all 14 of the world's highest peaks, died in an avalanche on Broad Peak in Pakistan at age 43, with other climbers also killed; his feats were chronicled in the Netflix documentary 14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible, and he served 16 years in the British Army (earning an MBE).
