Mass. Ballot Campaigns Clear Hurdles, Move Closer to 2024 Goals
Six Massachusetts ballot question campaigns have cleared an important hurdle for the 2024 election by submitting the required number of signatures to local election officials. The campaigns cover a range of issues, including auditing the Legislature, legalizing psychedelics for therapy, raising the tipped minimum wage, eliminating the MCAS exam as a graduation requirement, allowing rideshare drivers to unionize, and reclassifying gig workers as independent contractors. The campaigns have collected over 100,000 signatures each, with some exceeding 130,000 signatures.
