Marlins storm past Cubs 10-3 as Crow-Armstrong launches 40th homer
The Miami Marlins exploded for a 10-3 win over the Cubs in Miami, with Cubs starter Clay Holmes knocked out after 4.1 innings due to eight earned runs. The Marlins tallied two in the second, one in the fourth, and five in the fifth to seize control. Pete Crow-Armstrong provided the Cubs’ highlight, hitting his 40th home run (the first Cubs player with 40 HR and 30 SB in a season) and driving in a run, while earning Player of the Game honors. Colin Rea pitched to limit further damage but allowed a two-run homer in the seventh, and Daniel Palencia finished the eighth. Chicago couldn’t complete the series sweep and now travels to Milwaukee for a three-game set beginning tomorrow.
