Seare edges Ingebrigtsen to 5km crown at Copenhagen road worlds
Dawit Seare of Eritrea edged Jakob Ingebrigtsen to win the men’s 5km road title at the World Road Running Championships in Copenhagen, with Ingebrigtsen returning from injury and briefly leading before Seare passed in the final stretch; Saymon Amanuel took bronze. In the women’s 5km, Ethiopia’s Likina Amebaw dominated to win in 14:41, with Kenya’s Gitonga second and Rose Davies third. The day also feature mile races and other results as Copenhagen hosts a two-day festival of running.
