Oscars Viewership Dips to 17.9 Million, Lowest in Three Years
The 98th Academy Awards on ABC/Hulu attracted 17.86 million viewers, down 9% from last year and the lowest since 2022, with a 3.92 rating in adults 18-49 (down from 4.54). Despite the dip, it ranked as the season’s top primetime entertainment telecast and posted higher social impressions. Winners included “One Battle After Another” with six awards (including Best Picture and Best Director) and “Sinners” with four. Disney will continue to air the Oscars through 2027–28 before YouTube takes over in 2029–2033.
