Nigeria's Anti-Corruption Agency Head Suspended by President Tinubu
Nigeria's President Bola Tinubu has suspended the head of the country's anti-corruption unit, Abdulrasheed Bawa, indefinitely for abuse of office. Bawa is currently being interrogated by Nigeria's secret police. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) investigates and prosecutes financial crimes, including money laundering and corruption. Bawa is the fifth head of the anti-graft commission, and his suspension comes after the Senate refused to approve the reappointment of his predecessor Ibrahim Magu, who was also suspended over allegations of corruption.
