Caitríona Balfe to Lead Apple TV+ Horror Drama Ascension
Caitríona Balfe will star in and executive-produce Ascension, an Apple TV+ horror drama inspired by Adam Nevill's Last Days. She plays Rose, a divorced documentary filmmaker who encounters the Church of Ascension, a cult that appears comforting but hides dark secrets. The series is developed by Natalie Erika James and Christian White, with Alfonso Cuarón and Carlos Cuarón co-writing and James directing; Apple Studios will produce. This marks Balfe's first television project since Outlander, with several upcoming film roles.
