Hurricanes RB Jordan Lyle arrested on high-speed fleeing charges in Broward
Miami Hurricanes running back Jordan Lyle was arrested in Broward County on charges of reckless driving and aggravated fleeing or eluding a law enforcement officer at high speed, tied to a July 10 incident in which he allegedly fled a Sunrise Police detective with emergency lights and sirens activated. He turned himself in Thursday, was booked and released on $55,000 bond; aggravated fleeing is a second-degree felony. UM said it is aware of the incident and will comment as legal proceedings unfold. Lyle, a Fort Lauderdale native and St. Thomas Aquinas alumnus, was preparing for his third season and had a strong 2024 freshman year before injuries limited him in 2025; coach Mario Cristobal said he is healthy and could have a bigger role this season.
