Purja Among 4 Bodies Retrieved From Broad Peak in High-Altitude Rescue
Rescuers, led by Mingma G, recovered four bodies from Broad Peak at about 5,000 meters, including climber Nirmal Purja; three others—Sohail Sakhi, Mallory Weis, and Nawang Sherpa—remain on the mountain. The retrieval was described as exceptionally challenging and technically demanding, with Pakistani and Nepalese climbers contributing to the effort. The Alpine Club of Pakistan said it will continue to pursue locating and recovering the remaining climbers when conditions allow.
