Fetterman suffered a stroke a year ago and has struggled with speaking and cognitive issues. The issue came to light when a Washington Post reporter admitted to amplifying a misquote provided by Fetterman's office. The review found that Fetterman's office has drastically altered his comments several times after he returned to Capitol Hill in mid-April following a weeks-long absence for depression. The senator's office did not respond to a request for comment.
