Calls for Non-Military Investigation into Fort Hood Soldier's Death Amid Sexual Harassment Allegations
The III Armored Corps and Fort Hood commanding general, Lt. Gen. Sean C. Bernabe, held a press conference to update the media on the death of Pvt. Ana Basalduaruiz, a 20-year-old combat engineer with 1st Cavalry Division who was found deceased on March 13. The circumstances surrounding her death are under investigation, and the Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division is the lead investigative agency. Bernabe extended his condolences to Basalduaruiz's family and stated that there are no indications of foul play at this point in the investigation.
