
Connecticut Man Gets 5 Years for Attacking Muslim Lawmaker
Andrey Desmond was sentenced to five years in prison for attacking Muslim state representative Maryam Khan outside a prayer service in Connecticut. Desmond, who has a history of mental illness, pleaded guilty to attempted sexual assault and other charges. Khan, who sustained injuries, highlighted gaps in mental health care and victim protection.
