Affleck Considered Garner for Animals, Cast Kerry Washington Instead
Ben Affleck says he almost had Jennifer Garner play Abigail opposite him in the Netflix crime thriller Animals, hoping their schedules would mesh and they could see their kids more; Garner declined, citing baggage. He ended up starring as Mark Kimball after Matt Damon’s schedule shift, and with Hollywood strikes prompting a green light, Kerry Washington was cast as Abigail. The film centers on a kidnapped son and the race to assemble a ransom.
