Utah Judge Blocks Anti-Abortion Law and Restrictions.
A judge has blocked Utah's latest anti-abortion law from going into effect, which would have required all abortions in the state to be performed in hospitals or medical clinics. The judge ruled that the law's objective is "nebulous" and that the harm to Planned Parenthood and its patients outweighs any damage the state would suffer. The ruling allows abortions to be performed up to 18 weeks of pregnancy. The Utah Attorney General's Office is expected to appeal to the Utah Supreme Court.
