Woman Arrested for Hate Crime After Throwing Hot Coffee at Man and His Toddler
A woman has been arrested and charged with a hate crime assault after allegedly attacking a man and his 18-month-old son in Brooklyn. The woman accused the man of supporting Hamas, threw her cell phone and hot coffee at them, and hurled slurs. The incident occurred amid increasing fear among Muslims, Palestinians, and Jews in the US due to hate-motivated attacks during the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. The man, who was wearing a traditional Arab scarf, tried to record the incident but the woman became violent upon seeing the camera. The Council on American-Islamic Relations condemned the attack and called for swift action.
