"Peaceful Resolution: 2 Arrested in Ark City Standoff"
A standoff in Arkansas City ended peacefully with two arrests. Police responded to a report of a woman threatening people with a gun and found Jesse Shae Simmons, who pointed a handgun at officers before brandishing a machete and hammer. Simmons and an unknown passenger were in a vehicle parked in a driveway, and attempts to make contact with Simmons were unsuccessful. The Kansas Highway Patrol moved in with an armored vehicle to prevent the vehicle from leaving the perimeter, and both Simmons and Alyna Arran Alvarado surrendered without incident. Both are being held on a $100,000 bond for charges of aggravated assault.
