Multiple Wildfires Sparked by Lightning Threaten Arlee and Surrounding Areas
The Big Knife Fire, located five miles east of Arlee, Montana, has grown to an estimated 75 acres. The wildfire, potentially caused by lightning, is burning between Dancing Boy and Jocko Canyon. Firefighters from the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes Division of Fire and Arlee Fire are on the scene, and the fire danger within the Flathead Indian Reservation has been raised to very high. The Canal Road is closed from Mountain Home to the Jocko Canyon.
