Volkswagen Ends Arteon Production in Profitability Push.
Volkswagen is implementing a new profitability plan that will focus on higher-volume models, resulting in the discontinuation of lower-volume models like the Arteon. The company aims to reduce model complexity and optimize plant capacity utilization to achieve higher profits. The program, called "Accelerate Forward | Road to 6.5," is expected to improve earnings by around €10 billion and achieve a 6.5-percent return on sales. The company plans to set up a new Project Management Office to oversee the effort and hopes to have the program up and running by October.
