Cyrus clan backs Miley’s name-change as she primes new album era
Miley Cyrus has dropped her surname ahead of her 10th studio album, Bass Persuades, scheduled for Sept. 18, 2026, with a teaser listing her name simply as Miley. Her father Billy Ray Cyrus addressed the move on Instagram, calling it a natural progression for an iconic superstar and stressing that family comes first. Miley has reconciled with her father, mourned Dolly Parton (her godmother) following her death, and continues to honor Parton’s influence as she enters a new era.
