China's former US envoy, Cui Tiankai, criticized Europe for "mismanaging" its own security situation and urged them to learn from the Asian way of allowing nations to follow their own policies, which has worked for decades. He made these comments during a panel discussion at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, where he also pointed out that Asia should learn "a very important something from your lack of success."
