End of an Era: Fun Spot Atlanta Closes After ArieForce One’s Run
Fun Spot America Atlanta will close on Aug. 2 after attendance failed to sustain operations, even as ArieForce One—the park’s marquee coaster built by Rocky Mountain Construction and opened in 2023—garnered acclaim. Owner John Arie Jr. says the southern Atlanta location limited tourist draw and that the big investment didn’t generate lasting lift, prompting a relocation of ArieForce One to a new home outside the Fun Spot family. An auction of other park assets is planned after Labor Day, with Fayetteville real estate to be listed afterward. The site began as Dixieland Fun Park in 1990, later became Fun Junction USA and joined the Fun Spot group in 2017, leaving behind a legacy and a fan base hopeful to catch the ride in Florida."
