Hollywood Studios and SAG-AFTRA Union Seek Federal Mediation to Prevent Strike
SAG-AFTRA has agreed to federal mediation with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers in an attempt to break the bargaining deadlock and secure a fair deal before the contract expires on Wednesday. However, the union expressed doubts about the employers' intentions and condemned leaked information about the mediation request. SAG-AFTRA entered negotiations with a 98% yes vote on its strike authorization and the contracts were extended until July 12.
