Untreated Schizophrenic Suspect Refuses to Appear in Court for Baseball Attack on Congressional Staff
Xuan-Kha Tran Pham, a Virginia man suffering from untreated schizophrenia, was charged with attacking three women, including two staffers for U.S. Rep. Gerry Connolly, with a baseball bat. He also hit a car windshield and chased a woman while asking if she was white. Pham has been charged with aggravated wounding, malicious aggravated wounding, felony destroying property, and misdemeanor hate crime. He has an ongoing criminal case and was previously charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, and attempting to disarm a law enforcement officer.
