Visa bets on behavioral biometrics with $2.4B BioCatch acquisition
Visa will acquire Tel Aviv-based fraud-detection startup BioCatch for $2.4 billion in cash from Permira and other investors, adding BioCatch’s behavioral biometrics to help detect fraud before payments. The deal expands Visa’s value-added services and cybersecurity offerings, with closing expected by the end of Visa’s fiscal Q2 2027 and subject to regulatory approval. BioCatch serves about 760 million users across roughly 350 banks, complementing Visa’s network of financial institutions.
