Rising Hate: Recent Anti-Palestinian Attacks Shake Brooklyn
The New York Police Department is investigating a potential "bias incident" after a father and his 18-month-old son were allegedly attacked in Brooklyn and falsely accused of supporting Hamas. The father, Ashish Prashar, said a woman became upset when his son interacted with her child, leading to a confrontation where she hurled slurs, threw coffee, and physically assaulted him. Prashar captured the incident on video and reported it to the police. The incident highlights growing fears among Muslims, Palestinians, and Jews in the US of hate-motivated attacks amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. The Council on American-Islamic Relations condemned the attack and called for a swift investigation. The NYPD has seen a significant increase in bias incidents, including antisemitic and anti-Muslim crimes.
