East Village Bike Crash Claims 15-Year-Old Life, Another Teen Injured
A 15-year-old girl, Daria Serkov, was killed and a 16-year-old girl was hospitalized in stable condition after a westbound Hydro excavation truck struck them while they rode a bike at East 14th Street and 1st Avenue in Manhattan’s East Village. The driver remained on the scene and NYPD Highway Patrol is investigating; the truck appears to be a Hydro excavation vehicle operated by Badger Daylighting.
