Abbey Bike Tools has launched a compact Post Mount Facing Tool that uses the post-mount threads as a guide to face each brake mount perpendicular to the threads. Priced at $65 (with a $26 option for a 13mm drill socket), it offers a simple, portable alternative to expensive, multi‑part facing tools by minimizing moving parts and allowing faces to be created with a drill or wrench. It’s designed for post mounts only (not IS/Flat Mounts), with RPM guidelines by material (aluminum/mag up to 1000, steel 400, stainless 275, titanium 150). Abbey reports strong initial demand (batches sold out, next due late Oct) and also introduced a $15 pre‑sta valve core tool with a knurled grip and internal core storage. The tool aims to improve brake setup and performance by making faced mounts accessible to home mechanics and shops alike.
