Ebay and former executives settle with bloggers for $56M over 2019 harassment campaign
eBay and seven former executives agreed to a $56 million settlement with bloggers David and Ina Steiner of EcommerceBytes over a 2019 harassment campaign that included threats, a pig-blood mask, and home visits; seven ex-executives pleaded guilty and eBay faced a DOJ charge with a $3 million fine under a deferred prosecution agreement. Most of the settlement goes to the Steiners, with about $6 million earmarked for nonprofits, and former CEO Devin Wenig personally contributing $1 million to a charity; eBay says the conduct was wrong and is taking steps to make things right.
