Air India Captain Found Dead in Delhi Hotel During Layover
Sunny Sharad Asaldekar, a 46-year-old Air India captain, died in a New Delhi hotel room during an overnight layover. Found unresponsive by hotel staff after his brother reported he was not answering calls, Asaldekar was rushed to Safdarjung Hospital and pronounced dead. While a post-mortem is pending, sources suspect cardiac arrest. The incident has renewed scrutiny of pilot fatigue management, though the Federation of Indian Pilots has not directly linked fatigue to the death.
