Hamilton's Early Exit Marks Dramatic Abu Dhabi Qualifying
Lewis Hamilton's final qualifying session for Mercedes in Formula 1 ended in disappointment as he was eliminated in Q1 due to a flying bollard incident. While attempting to overtake Kevin Magnussen, who moved aside to avoid blocking Hamilton, a bollard was dislodged and became trapped under Hamilton's car, affecting its aerodynamics. This mishap resulted in Hamilton finishing 18th, missing the Q2 cut by less than a tenth of a second. Both Hamilton and Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff expressed frustration over the incident.
