Insider Book Exposes Chaotic Trump White House and Jan. 6 Testimony
Mark Meadows, former White House chief of staff, burned numerous papers in his office fireplace during the chaotic end of Donald Trump's presidency, causing his wife to complain about the cost of dry-cleaning his suits to remove the "bonfire" smell, according to a forthcoming memoir by Cassidy Hutchinson, a senior aide to Meadows. Meadows' habit of burning documents was previously known, and he did so after meeting with a hard-right Republican congressman involved in attempts to overturn Trump's defeat. Trump himself has baselessly accused the January 6 committee of destroying evidence.
