
UC Schools See Surge in Latino Student Admissions for Fall 2023
The University of California system has admitted a record number of California applicants for the fall 2023 semester, with Latino students leading the way. Latino students make up 37.6% of admitted students, followed by Asian-American students at 34.2%, Black students at 5.5%, and American Indians from California at 1%. The number of first-year students admitted from underrepresented groups increased by 4% compared to last year. The UC system plans to expand enrollment by 4,200 this fall and aims to increase California student enrollment by over 20,000 by 2030.
