Dodgers retract invitation to controversial group for Pride Night celebration.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have cancelled plans to honor a group of "queer and trans nuns" at their upcoming Pride Night after receiving complaints from Catholics, including Florida Sen. Marco Rubio. The group, The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, was being awarded for promoting human rights and respect for diversity. However, the Dodgers received backlash for allegedly rewarding hate speech and mocking Christians. The team announced they had removed the group from the list of honorees in an effort not to distract from the benefits of Pride Night.
