Canon unveils the EOS R6 V, a viewfinder-free, video-first full-frame mirrorless with a 32.5MP sensor, internal 7K RAW (Open Gate), active cooling, IBIS, and a built-in vertical grip, plus ProRes RAW over HDMI, priced at $2,499.
Canon unveils the EOS R6 V, a video-focused update that removes the EVF in favor of a rear screen and adds an internal cooling fan for extended recording. It uses the same 32.5MP sensor as the R6 III, keeps the same autofocus, but sacrifices stills practicality with no mechanical shutter. New video capabilities include 7Kp60 RAW Light, 7Kp30 Open Gate, oversampled 4Kp60/4Kp120, and the fan enables longer 4K60 recording (about two hours). It also introduces a zoom lever for the new RF 20-50mm f/4 L IS USM PZ lens, a front secondary record button, instant live stream button, and a second vertical tripod mount. Priced at $2,499 (kit with the new lens $3,699), it ships in late June.
