Albany Woman Charged in ISIS-Linked Capitol Bomb Plot
The federal government charged 36-year-old Jessica Bowie of Albany with plotting to attack New York’s State Capitol, allegedly with a person she believed had ISIS ties. Bowie, who converted to Islam in 2021 and used the name Aisha Saif, lived on Sherman Street in Albany. Neighbors say the FBI questioned residents about her, and Bowie has been cited as saying she was once “a little girl waving an American flag after 9/11,” highlighting questions about how she became radicalized.
