Elementary students exposed to fentanyl-laced gummy bears; caregivers arrested
Seven elementary school students in Virginia were exposed to fentanyl after eating gummies from a contaminated bag during lunch. The caregivers of one of the students were arrested in connection with the incident. The students experienced symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and muscle spasms, and five of them were taken to hospitals. The gummies themselves did not test positive for fentanyl, but traces were found in the bag. The school district is implementing measures to prevent similar incidents in the future, and law enforcement says more charges could be pending.
