Teenager Shot by Police in Carlsbad Road Incident
A 16-year-old boy was shot and wounded by Carlsbad Police officers during an altercation in which he allegedly pulled out a handgun from under the passenger seat of a truck parked in a dirt lot. The teenager was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive. The officer who fired his weapon has been with the department since May 2023.
