"Home-schooling Parent Wins GOP Nomination for NC Superintendent, Threatening Public Schools and Business Climate"
North Carolina Superintendent of Public Instruction Catherine Truitt lost the Republican primary to Michele Morrow, a home-schooling parent critical of public schools' "radical agendas" on race and gender ideology. Despite Truitt's fundraising advantages and GOP establishment support, Morrow, a former Christian missionary, secured 52% of the vote. Truitt's term ends at the year's end, and Morrow will now face Democrat Maurice "Mo" Green in November.
