"Apple Declares Last MacBook Pro with CD Drive Obsolete"
Apple has added the Mid 2012 model of the 13-inch MacBook Pro, the last Mac with a built-in CD/DVD drive, to its obsolete products list, marking it as "technologically obsolete" after more than seven years since its last distribution. The company continues to sell an external SuperDrive for customers who need a CD/DVD drive, but a USB-C adapter is required to use it with modern MacBooks. On the software side, Apple dropped support for this model with macOS Big Sur in 2020. Additionally, Apple has big plans for iOS 18, which is expected to be a significant software update for the iPhone.
