Baltimore Running Festival to draw 15,000 runners amid extensive weekend road closures
The 26th annual Baltimore Running Festival takes place this Saturday, drawing approximately 15,000 participants across marathon, half-marathon, 10K, and 5K events. The city has implemented extensive road and parking closures starting Thursday to accommodate the races, which conclude by 3 p.m. Saturday. Notable participants include Baltimore Police Detective Zachary Rutherford, who is running as a 'Charity Chaser' to raise funds for the Signal 13 Foundation. This year’s event is expected to have about 1,000 more runners than last year, according to festival organizers.
