Ex-Mount Vernon deputy's son charged in Bronx gang shooting
Chase Lackard, 20, the son of former Mount Vernon deputy commissioner Jennifer Lackard, was arraigned in Bronx criminal court for a June 29 alleged gang-related shooting outside a Bronx courthouse, facing attempted murder charges after prosecutors say he fired multiple shots. Prosecutors also say Jennifer Lackard acted as the getaway driver and sent a timed text during the escape; she has been fired and held on $75,000 bail, while Chase is being held without bail. The ex-husband is indicted, and the case carries up to 25 years in prison.
