Zhipu, a Chinese AI startup now known as Z.ai, is set to release its largest open-source model, GLM-4.5, aiming to compete with OpenAI and establish industry standards, amidst a surge of Chinese firms releasing open-source AI models. The company is also considering a Hong Kong IPO to raise around $300 million.
