Treasury under scrutiny after employee’s death over safeguarding and duty of care
David Moffat, father of Chloe Moffat, a Treasury employee who died after a meeting alleging she had shared confidential information, says there was no safeguarding and that the Treasury failed in its duty of care. A coroner found the meeting contributed to her death and that the Treasury did not apply its disciplinary policy. The Treasury says it will learn lessons, has introduced changes to guidance and wellbeing arrangements, and will meet the family to discuss actions and possible redress.
